How prayer times are calculated for Iran

Prayer times depend on the sun’s position relative to a location, so they differ between cities in the same country and shift through the year. Fajr and Isha additionally depend on the angle of the sun below the horizon, and that angle differs between calculation authorities.

Cities in Iran default to Institute of Geophysics, University of Tehran, the authority conventionally followed there. Both the authority and the juristic school can be changed on any city page if your local mosque follows a different convention.
